Who are we?

We are the Hinton’s and I am Courtney. I am 27 years old and graduated from SUU with a degree in Elementary Education. I am married to an absolutely wonderful man named Kasey, who is a software engineer, and we have two amazing little boys; Holt and Greyson. I’ve always used writing as an outlet for my feelings as well as a way to keep track of memories throughout my life. Sometimes I have the urge to share my feelings with others and this is where you will find me doing just that. For this first post, enjoy a low-down of how we became the family we are today!

Kasey & Courtney

Kasey and I met while going to Dixie State University in 2013. We ended up in a Humanities class together taught by Kasey’s cousin of all people. We talked here and there through groups we were put in together and Kasey added me on Facebook where he pretending not to know things about class just so he had an excuse to talk to me. We went on our first date in June of 2013 and dated through that summer. Kasey moved to Washington state and we ended up taking a break from our relationship for a few months before reconnecting when he moved back to Arizona in October. We did the long distance relationship thing for a year. We only saw each other a handful of times including when we got engaged in June of 2014. We were married on November 7, 2014 in the St. George, Utah temple. We got our first apartment together a couple of weeks after our wedding and it was the perfect little place for us to have our first Thanksgiving and Christmas together. We bought our first house in July 2016 in Enoch Utah and then we found out the best news in September of that same year. We were going to have a little boy!

Holt

Our first baby boy was born on June 14, 2017 and it was one of the greatest days of our lives. He came into this world weighing 8 lbs 8 oz and he was the most cuddly and squishy little dude. Life with a newborn was crazy at first, but being a mom has become my favorite thing. Holt is now 2 years old and he brings such joy and laughter to our lives daily. A lot of what you will see on our blog will involve his shenanigans. Holt is currently obsessed with trucks, the car wash, and Paw Patrol. He also loves anything to do with the water as well as drinking my Dr. Pepper any chance he gets.

Greyson

Baby boy #2 was born on July 9, 2019 weighing a solid 9 lbs 2 oz. Thank goodness the epidural worked this time. Little Greyson gave us quite a scare! He had Congenital Pneumonia and needed to stay at the hospital for 4 1/2 days. This little man is going on 7 weeks now and is starting to smile and react to the things around him which is the cutest thing in the world. Being a parent of two kids definitely has its ups and downs and watching my boys together is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. Holt is such a good big brother.
